Megan & Brandan | Victoria Park Brisbane Wedding | 03.05.26
A love story, a last dance at an iconic venue, and the most glorious golden hour Brisbane has ever seen.
Let me start this one with a little confession: I ugly-cried editing these photos. Not just the happy sentimental kind — the full ugly cry, tissues everywhere, wine in hand kind. Because this wedding? It had everything. And the venue? Well, she's about to take her final bow.
Victoria Park, you absolute gem. You hosted your last few weddings with grace, beauty, and the kind of golden light that makes a photographer weep. With the Brisbane 2032 Olympics bringing a new stadium to this beloved green space, Victoria Park closes its doors on 31 May 2026 — and I feel incredibly privileged to have been one of the very last photographers to capture a wedding day within these grounds. Bittersweet doesn't even cover it.
But enough about me crying. Let's talk about Megan & Brandan — because these two gave me the most beautiful, funny, heartfelt, chaotic in the best possible way wedding day, and I am here for every single second of it.
The Boys Getting Ready | Brisbane City
We started the morning with Brandan and the boys getting ready right in the heart of Brisbane city — which, if you're a photographer, is basically like handing a kid the keys to a candy store. Brisbane City as a backdrop? Yes please.
The boys were so chilled it was almost suspicious. You know that energy when a groom is just so ready — not nervous, not frantic — just genuinely, completely excited to marry his person? That was Brandan to a tee. We wandered nearby to catch some gorgeous Brisbane River views, laughed way too much, and honestly just had a blast. The Brisbane city skyline doesn't lie — it delivered.
Megan & The Girls Getting Ready
Next stop: Megan and the girls, who were in the same apartment complex — just in different rooms. (Iconic logistics, honestly.)
When I walked in, I did a little internal gasp. Megan looked absolutely stunning. The incredible team at Kirby's Hair & Beauty had outdone themselves — we're talking hair and makeup so good it almost felt unfair. And Megan's gown from Luv Bridal? Chef's kiss.
But here's the part that made my heart completely dissolve: their daughter was there with Megan during getting ready. The mum-and-daughter pre-ceremony photos we captured? Some of my absolute favourite frames from the entire day. Pure, unfiltered joy.
Megan was an absolute vibe the entire morning — radiating that rare kind of calm excitement that comes from knowing you're about to do exactly the right thing with exactly the right person. We had so much fun capturing the girls getting ready and the florals from Bridal Bloom Collective were absolutely chef's kiss throughout.
The Ceremony | Victoria Park
Then it was off to Victoria Park — and oh, what a venue she is.
Megan and Brandan held both their ceremony and reception here, which made for the most seamless, beautiful day. The ceremony was officiated by the absolutely wonderful David Webber, Marriage Celebrant — and if you need a celebrant who perfectly balances heartfelt and hilarious, David is your guy. He had the room laughing, then crying, then laughing again. He nailed it completely.
The two shared private vows — always one of my favourite moments to photograph because you watch two people completely disappear into their own little world — followed by a ring exchange and that first kiss as husband and wife. Cue: all the tears.
After the ceremony, we gathered everyone for group photos — and can I just say, group photos immediately after the ceremony are truly the move. Everyone is happy, everyone is sober (relatively speaking), and no one has wandered off with a glass of wine to the other side of the garden yet. Do it while you can, people!
Golf Buggies, Golden Hour & the Most Glorious Sunset
Now here's where it gets really fun.
Megan, Brandan, and the bridal party piled into golf buggies to head around the venue for couple and bridal party portraits — and honestly, if your venue has golf buggies, you simply must use them. It's just joyful chaos and I am here for it every single time.
Their package included two photographers and a content creator — and can I just take a moment to talk about how incredible iPhone content creation is for weddings right now? It's genuinely up-and-coming in the wedding world, and for good reason. You get a raw, real, instant look back at your wedding day — videos uploaded within 24 to 48 hours. It's the sneak peek you didn't know you needed, and couples absolutely love it.
And then the sky decided to show off.
The sunset was giving the most glorious golden rays across Victoria Park — the kind of light that makes every single frame look like it was painted. Megan and Brandan were absolute naturals in front of the camera, which, by the way — they had both told me multiple times leading up to the wedding that they were "not photo people." Reader, I did not believe them, and I was right. They looked so completely at ease, so comfortable, so themselves. That's always the goal as a wedding photographer — not to make people pose, but to help them forget the camera is even there.
The Reception | Victoria Park
The reception was held in one of Victoria Park's beautiful function rooms — and oh, it was gorgeous. The team at Victoria Park absolutely nailed the wedding styling and catering, and the cake from Maria's Sweet Treats was stunning(and I'm told, incredibly delicious).
The entertainment was next-level — the incredible Rhythm Road Band had the whole room going, and In The Boothphoto booth was an absolute hit. There is never a bad time for a photo booth moment at a wedding. Never.
But my absolute favourite detail of the entire reception? The live painters from Harlow & Co. I mean — LIVE PAINTING at a wedding is one of the most unique, personal, gorgeous touches you can add to your day. Guests got to watch their wedding come to life on canvas in real time, and everyone got to take home a little painted keepsake. I even got one of myself — just me, holding my camera — and I think it might be one of the best things I've ever received. Truly such a special touch and a beautiful memento for family and friends.
There were speeches, a first dance, and — my personal favourite chaotic wedding tradition — the table rush photo. For those unfamiliar: one song plays, every table has to sprint up and get a photo with the bride and groom before it ends. Absolute pandemonium. Absolute joy. Every single face in that frame is beaming. It's the great equaliser of wedding photography and I will recommend it at every wedding forever.
We also snuck away for some stunning nighttime photos of Megan and Brandan — the kind of moody, romantic images that look like a movie still. Victoria Park after dark did not disappoint.
The guests arrived and departed in style thanks to All Occasions Limousines — the Mercedes V-Class is such a beautiful, elevated choice for wedding transport.
Thank You, Megan & Brandan 🤍
This day was the perfect end to a long weekend of weddings — and I mean that in the most glowing way possible. There is nothing quite like photographing a couple where you just click, where the whole day flows and laughs and glows and you drive home thinking: I cannot believe this is my job.
Thank you, Megan and Brandan, for welcoming me into your day. For trusting me with your memories. For being the absolute best sports in front of the camera even though you swore you weren't photo people. You are, officially, photo people now. The photos prove it.
And thank you, Victoria Park, for one final, beautiful send-off. What a place. What a legacy. 🌿
