Ashleigh & Andrew’s backyard wedding in Gympie was everything you dream of when you think about love, laughter, and doing things your way. Set at a beautiful private residence, their big day was laid-back, fun, and completely personal—from cold beers during the boys’ prep to Ash taking the wheel of Andrew’s beloved car. As a wedding photographer, it was an absolute dream to capture.
Groom Prep at the Venue – Beers, Banter & Good Vibes
We kicked off the day with Andrew and his groomsmen getting ready right at the venue. The atmosphere was all laughs and laid-back vibes, with beers flowing and cheeky banter filling the air. There’s something so authentic about these moments—no stress, just good mates and genuine excitement for what’s ahead.
Bridal Prep – Champagne, Glam & A Very Special Ride
Next, we made our way to the girls, where Ashleigh was getting ready. With the talented Corrine Jones working her magic on makeup, the energy was electric. The bridal party popped the champagne as Ash put on her finishing touches. But the standout moment? Just before leaving, some very special cars arrived—and Ash surprised everyone by hopping into the driver’s seat of Andrew’s cherished car to drive herself to the ceremony. Iconic.
Ceremony – Love, Laughter & The Perfect “I Do”
Held at the same private property, the ceremony was intimate and heartfelt. Chevy The Celebrant led the proceedings with the perfect mix of humour and heart. You could feel Andrew’s nerves creeping in—until he heard the familiar sound of his car and saw Ash jump out from behind the wheel. From that moment on, he couldn’t stop smiling.
Surrounded by close family and friends, this was exactly how Ash & Andrew wanted to say I do—real, relaxed, and full of love.
Bridal Portraits – Scenic Views, Cold Beers & Big Laughs
After the ceremony, we hit up a scenic spot just nearby for bridal party and couple photos. Think: rolling hills, cold beers, epic cars, and a whole lot of belly laughs. It was the kind of photo session where everyone just leans into the moment—and it shows. Every image radiates joy, connection, and personality.
Reception – Pizza, Speeches & Dancing Under the Stars
As the sun dipped below the trees, the backyard transformed into a cosy, twinkly reception space. With speeches kicking off the evening, there were tears, roars of laughter, and heartfelt moments from their nearest and dearest.
And then came the food. If you haven’t had That Pizza Guy cater your wedding, you’re seriously missing out. Hot, fresh, delicious pizza straight from the oven—it was the perfect laid-back dinner for this beautiful backyard bash.
A Love Story Worth Capturing
From start to finish, Ashleigh & Andrew’s Gympie backyard wedding was full of the little details that made it uniquely theirs. From driving to the ceremony in a sentimental car to sipping beers with their best friends during portraits—this wedding was all about love, laughter, and doing things your way.
