What a privilege it was to capture Matty and Tom’s happily-ever-after day at the breathtaking Maleny Orchard in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. After knowing Matty for almost five years, it was such an honour to be asked to photograph her wedding day — a celebration overflowing with love, laughter, and heartfelt moments that reflected who they are as a couple.
Getting Ready at Maleny Orchard
The morning began with the girls getting ready on site at Maleny Orchard, one of the many reasons this venue is such a standout for Sunshine Coast weddings. Everything is in one place — from preparation to ceremony to reception — making the day flow beautifully and stress-free.
Matty and her bridesmaids looked incredible thanks to the talented Big Deal Hair and Amy Maree (@makeupbyamymaree). The team created soft, elegant looks that perfectly complemented the romantic hinterland setting. From the moment I arrived, there was such a calm yet excited energy in the air — the perfect start to what would become an unforgettable day.
A First Look to Remember
Before the ceremony began, Matty and Tom shared a first look — a quiet, emotional moment just for the two of them. Away from the crowd, they were able to take in the significance of the day, grounding themselves in love before stepping into their ceremony surrounded by family and friends. Matty and Tom poured their hearts into every detail of their day, styling much of the décor themselves. A Heartfelt Ceremony
The ceremony, officiated by Married by Luke De Gee, was heartfelt, joyful, and full of emotion. Luke has such a wonderful way of balancing fun and sentimentality — he also stayed on to MC and DJ the night, making sure the entire celebration flowed perfectly.
There were tears, laughter, and heartfelt stories that had everyone smiling through happy tears. Family and friends had travelled from all across the country to be part of the celebration, and it was clear how deeply loved Matty and Tom are by everyone around them.

Sunset Portraits & Scenic Views
One of the best things about having a Maleny Orchard wedding is that every photo can be captured right there on the property. With endless photo opportunities — from orchard rows and mountain-view backdrops to open paddocks — it’s a dream come true for both couples and photographers alike.
The owners even take couples and photographers around the property in a 4WD, which adds such a fun and adventurous touch to the day. Matty and Tom were absolute naturals in front of the camera, and we finished their portraits with a golden Sunshine Coast sunset that painted the sky in soft pastel hues — the perfect ending to a beautiful afternoon.
A Celebration to Remember
As evening fell, the reception kicked off in true celebratory style with heartfelt speeches that had everyone alternating between laughter and tears. The emotion in the room was tangible — a perfect reflection of how loved these two are.
Then came the food — and wow, what a feast! Bertino Brothers absolutely outdid themselves with the most delicious handmade Italian dishes. Every bite was bursting with authentic flavour and fresh ingredients, lovingly crafted right there on site. Their catering is not just food — it’s an experience. From handmade pasta to rustic antipasto spreads, Bertino Brothers bring that warm Italian family feeling to your wedding day. Honestly, if you’re planning your wedding, Bertino Brothers should be a non-negotiable. Their food was phenomenal, and every guest was raving about it all night long.
The drinks were flowing thanks to Roaming Events, and the energy on the dance floor was unstoppable. Matty’s outfit change — a stunning red dress in honour of her Hungarian heritage — was the perfect surprise that took the party to another level. With DJ sets by Luke, the night was one big joyful celebration that no one wanted to end.
