There’s just something magical about a winter wedding in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, and Melanie & Chris’s big day on the 5th of July 2025 was no exception. As a Sunshine Coast wedding photographer, I get to witness so many love stories, but this one — set against the breathtaking backdrop of Tiffany’s Maleny — was pure romantic perfection from beginning to end.

Getting Ready in Style: Montville & Maleny

The day began with Chris and his crew at Altitude on Montville — a favourite for couples tying the knot in the hinterland. It’s modern, peaceful, and just a short drive from most iconic wedding venues, including Tiffany’s. Chris was joined by his brother, sister-in-law, and adorable niece, all lending a hand (and a few laughs) while he prepped for his “I do.”

Meanwhile, Melanie was tucked away in the ever-stunning Maleny Lodge — a boutique hotel in the heart of Maleny that oozes vintage charm with a stylish twist. It's a dream spot for wedding prep photos, with soft natural light and elegant interiors. Corrine Jones worked her magic on hair and makeup, making sure Melanie and her family looked absolutely stunning. One of my favourite moments? The sweet first look Mel shared with her dad — so much love in that moment, and it made for some truly beautiful photos.

Melanie arrived in style, chauffeured by Elite Executive Transfers, and stepped into the iconic Tiffany’s Chapel where Chris was waiting — nerves melting into smiles. The ceremony, officiated by close friend and Pastor Ray Morris from St Mark's Caloundra, was heartfelt and personal. Every word felt like it was written just for them.

Capturing the Love — Candid, Natural & Full of Joy

After the ceremony, we ventured just down the road to a dreamy tree-lined laneway, followed by a quick stop at Macarthy Shute Road — a hidden gem for hinterland sunsets. Though Melanie & Chris said they weren’t “photo people,” you’d never know it. Their connection was undeniable, and every moment felt genuine and easy. That’s what I love most about my photography style — candid, natural, with just a little gentle guidance so you can relax and just be in the moment.

And wow, did they deliver. The way they laughed, held hands, stole kisses — pure magic under the soft winter glow.

Let the Celebrations Begin!

Back at Tiffany’s, the reception kicked off with heartfelt speeches, epic food, and lots of happy tears. The stunning wedding cake by Sweet Daisy Cakes was the cherry on top, paired with a room full of love and laughter. From parents and bridal party speeches to Melanie and Chris’s own words, the night was filled with joy.

As the dance floor heated up, we snuck out for a few romantic night-time shots to close out their gallery — soft lighting, happy hearts, and the stars above Maleny watching over.
