Bianca & Andy | A Beautiful Sunshine Coast Wedding at The Rocks Yandina

The Rocks Yandina wedding venue overlooking the Sunshine Coast hinterland

Some wedding days are all about the grand entrances, elaborate details and a schedule packed from sunrise to midnight. And then there are days like Bianca and Andy's.

Simple. Sweet. Full of love. And honestly? Just really, really cute.

Set against the beautiful Sunshine Coast hinterland at The Rocks Yandina, these two celebrated their marriage surrounded by the people who matter most. No unnecessary fuss, no overcomplicating things. Just two people, their beautiful little family, and a whole lot of happiness.

And if there's one thing I love about photographing weddings, it's that no two celebrations need to look the same to be absolutely perfect.

For Bianca and Andy, their wedding wasn't just about becoming husband and wife. It was about celebrating the little family they'd already created and the next chapter they were stepping into together.

Because sometimes marriage isn't the beginning of your love story. It's a beautiful new chapter in the family you've already built.

And goodness, what a lovely chapter this was.

Getting Ready at The Rocks Yandina | Keeping Things Simple

One of the things I loved most about Bianca and Andy's wedding was how relaxed the whole afternoon felt.

They booked one of my shorter photography-only wedding packages, which meant I joined them for the afternoon to capture all the important moments without needing to photograph every minute of the day.

And honestly, sometimes that's all you need!

Everything happened on-site at The Rocks Yandina, making the entire afternoon wonderfully convenient. No driving between locations, no worrying about traffic, and no mad dashes across the Sunshine Coast trying to get everyone where they needed to be.

We started with Andy, his groomspeople and his mum, capturing those final moments before the ceremony.

Their little boy was also dressed and ready for the occasion, looking very much the part of a tiny wedding VIP.

There's something so special about including your children in your wedding day. Not only are you celebrating your relationship, but you're creating these beautiful memories that they'll be able to look back on when they're older.

And let's be fair, children also have absolutely no interest in following a wedding day schedule, which makes for some pretty brilliant candid photographs.

Exactly the kind of moments I love.

Bridal Preparations in The Rocks' Green Room

Meanwhile, Bianca and her girls were getting ready in the gorgeous Green Room located on the property.

With the talented teams from Vanessa Kay Makeup and By Charlie HMUA helping everyone look and feel their best, the morning preparations were filled with excitement.

And Bianca?

Well, you genuinely couldn't wipe the smile off her face.

She was SO ready to marry the love of her life.

You know those brides who are just absolutely glowing with happiness before they've even put their dress on? That was Bianca.

After the finishing touches, it was time to get her into her stunning wedding dress, and suddenly everything felt very real.

One of my favourite moments from the afternoon was Bianca's first look with her dad.

Now, if you've followed my work as a Sunshine Coast wedding photographer for a while, you'll know I absolutely love a good first look.

And this one?

Let's just say there weren't many dry eyes in the room.

There's something incredibly special about a parent seeing their child dressed for their wedding day. It's one of those moments where time seems to slow down, emotions take over, and everyone remembers exactly why we're all there.

Naturally, I was there photographing every second.

Sorry to everyone who cried. But also, you're welcome for the memories. 🤣

A Beautiful Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at The Rocks Yandina

If you've ever visited The Rocks Yandina, you'll know that the ceremony location is something pretty special.

Beautiful open surroundings, gorgeous hinterland views and that unmistakable Sunshine Coast landscape.

But here's something you might not know.

This particular ceremony spot can get WINDY.

And I mean, hold onto your veil kind of windy.

So when Bianca and Andy's wedding day arrived with the most beautiful sunshine and barely a breath of wind, I couldn't quite believe our luck.

I even mentioned to them how fortunate they were with the weather because, seriously, it couldn't have been much better.

Bianca and Andy's outdoor wedding ceremony at The Rocks Yandina

Their ceremony was officiated by the wonderful Brooke Carlyon Ceremonies, a fantastic Sunshine Coast wedding celebrant who brings such a lovely, warm energy to the weddings she creates.

A great celebrant makes such a difference to the atmosphere of a ceremony. It's about more than simply saying the words. It's making the couple feel comfortable, creating moments of genuine connection, and helping everyone feel part of the celebration.

And Brooke does exactly that.

Of course, Bianca and Andy's little boy also had his own ideas about how the ceremony should unfold.

Because children will be children, even when Mum and Dad are getting married!

And you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way.

Those little unexpected moments, the laughs, the reactions and the tiny interruptions are what make a wedding ceremony feel so wonderfully personal.

They're the photographs that tell the real story.

The ones that will probably make Bianca and Andy laugh even harder in twenty years.

And amongst all those sweet family moments, these two officially became husband and wife.

Golden Hour Wedding Photography at The Rocks Yandina

Now, can we talk about the LIGHT?

Because goodness gracious, The Rocks absolutely delivered.

After the ceremony, we had time for some lovely bridal party photographs with Bianca and Andy's favourite people before heading off for a few portraits of the newlyweds.

One of the reasons I love photographing weddings at The Rocks Yandina is the incredible variety of photo locations available without needing to leave the property.

You've got the beautiful open landscapes, the surrounding greenery, those gorgeous mountain views and some absolutely magical opportunities for sunset photography.

And if there's one spot I will ALWAYS make time for, it's the fence beside the ceremony location.

If you know, you know.

When the afternoon sunlight starts dropping behind the landscape, it hits that area in the most beautiful way.

Soft golden light, gorgeous backlighting and that lovely warmth that makes everything feel just a little bit more romantic.

It's one of my absolute favourite locations for wedding photography at The Rocks, and I consider it pretty much non-negotiable when the conditions are right.

Bianca and Andy were treated to some of the loveliest afternoon light, and we made the most of every minute.

The mountain views were looking spectacular, the weather was playing nicely, and these two were simply enjoying being married.

No awkward posing. No spending forever trying to manufacture the perfect photograph.

Just a little direction from me, plenty of laughs, and the kind of natural connection that makes wedding photographs feel like you.

That's always been my approach at Angela Brushe Photography.

I want couples to look back at their wedding gallery and remember how they felt, not how long they spent standing in an uncomfortable pose wondering what to do with their hands.

And honestly, with scenery like this, The Rocks makes my job pretty easy.

A Sweet Reception Entrance to Finish the Afternoon

After soaking up the beautiful afternoon light, it was time for Bianca and Andy to join their guests and officially kick off their wedding reception.

And this was where my time with them came to an end.

Because they'd chosen a shorter wedding photography package, I stayed to capture their reception entrance before leaving them to enjoy the rest of their celebrations.

And that's something I think more couples should know about wedding photography.

You don't necessarily need a photographer there for twelve hours to have a beautiful collection of wedding memories.

For some couples, having their preparations, ceremony, family photographs, bridal party portraits and a few reception moments captured is exactly what they want.

And that's perfectly okay!

Your wedding day should reflect the two of you, not a checklist of what everyone else thinks you need.

For Bianca and Andy, this afternoon was all about love, family and celebrating the life they've built together.

And I think their photographs reflect that beautifully.

Planning Your Own Wedding at The Rocks Yandina?

If you're dreaming of a Sunshine Coast hinterland wedding venue with beautiful natural surroundings, mountain views and plenty of opportunities for gorgeous wedding photographs, The Rocks Yandina is absolutely worth adding to your venue shortlist.

One of the things I particularly love about this venue is how easily you can have so much of your wedding day in the one location. The staff have also made every experience there I’ve had as a wedding photographer, an effortless one.

From getting ready on-site to exchanging vows, enjoying portraits and celebrating with your guests, everything can flow beautifully without spending half your wedding day travelling between places.

And as a wedding photographer, I can tell you that makes a huge difference.

More time enjoying your wedding. Less time watching the clock.

Plus, those golden hour photo opportunities?

A very big yes from me.
