Okay, so. There are wedding days, and then there's Breanna and Steph's.

If there's one thing I took away from this one, it's that everyone deserves to find their person — the one who sits down and writes you a letter before you've even laid eyes on each other that morning, the one who has your favourite song queued up and ready to go at exactly the right moment. That's Breanna and Steph. That's just who they are together, and it was written all over this entire day.

"The best thing to hold onto in life is each other." Genuinely, that's the whole day summed up in one line. From the second I rocked up with my camera to the second I packed it away that night, it was just pure, unfiltered connection — all wrapped up in florals and that gorgeous golden hinterland light that Carrington Estate seems to have on tap.

Getting Ready

We kicked the morning off with Steph and their crew — best friends and Steph's parents in tow — getting ready at a house just next door to Carrington Estate. Honestly, what a spot. It's this beautiful old country property with corners and pockets everywhere that just beg to be photographed, and this getting-ready house was no exception.

There was a moment early on that I don't think I'll forget — Steph sat down and read a handwritten letter from Breanna before we even left for the venue. I love catching those quiet, unscripted moments before the day properly kicks off, when everyone's still a little nervous and a little giddy and it's all just about to begin.

Then it was over to the girls' side, where Breanna and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the bridal guesthouse at Carrington Estate. Can we talk about the glam squad for a second? Hannah Mills on makeup and Tara Ann Artistry on hair absolutely brought it — the bridesmaids looked incredible, like properly, stop-and-stare incredible. We popped some champagne, ran a first look with the bridal party and a few family members, and then I pulled Breanna aside for a few quiet minutes on her own — just her, her letter from Steph, and some solo portraits before the whirlwind of the day really got going.

This whole day had our Photography, Videography and Content packages running side by side, which meant every single bit of it got captured — not just the stills, but the sound of it too. The laughs, the sniffles, all of it. Days like this are exactly why I love offering that combo, because there's just no way one camera catches everything.

The Ceremony

Right, the ceremony. I have to give a massive shoutout here to Married by Luke — Luke de Gee is an MC, DJ and celebrant all rolled into one absolute unit of a human, and I mean that as the highest compliment. Any Sunshine Coast, Brisbane or Gold Coast couple would be so lucky to have him running their day. The way he held the space, the lighting, the florals from Lunaria Botanical — everything just came together. Watching everyone's people surround them, laughing one second and full-on crying the next, was honestly such a privilege to be a part of.

Couple Portraits

Before we snuck off for portraits, there was a champagne tower — which, come on, is always such a fun, slightly chaotic, thoroughly delightful little moment — and a sneaky preview of the reception space. And look, I'll just say it: the barn at Carrington Estate is a showstopper. No notes.

We got so lucky with the light too. Golden hour just draped itself over the whole property, and given this was my first time shooting at this venue, it genuinely felt like every photographer's dream come true. Add in a couple who were just so easy and so clearly obsessed with each other in front of the camera, plus a bridal party who brought the energy the whole time, and this couple shoot has landed itself firmly in my all-time favourites. I could not stop looking through these.

The Reception

Now, the reception moment that properly got me — Breanna and Steph had written personal letters for their family and friends, and everyone got to open them together right before the reception kicked off. There were tears everywhere. Real, proper, happy-crying tears. It was such a beautiful, thoughtful way to say thank you to the people who'd shown up for them.

Then the second the newlyweds walked in, one perfectly chosen song had the whole room up and dancing, and that set the tone for the rest of the night. Speeches, cake cutting, a first dance, and then everyone properly let loose and partied.

A Final Note

I say this after pretty much every wedding, I know — but this one is genuinely going to stick with me for a long time. Days like Breanna and Steph's are exactly why I love what I do. Breanna, Steph — thank you so much for having me there. I feel so lucky I got to capture it.
