Rachael & Jonathan's Golden Sunset Wedding at Tiffany's Maleny
Some weddings you shoot and then move on to the next one. And then some weddings you're still thinking about a week later, going through the gallery for the tenth time going "okay but look at this light." Rachael and Jonathan's day at Tiffany's Maleny is very much the second kind.
If you've ever wondered why so many Sunshine Coast hinterland weddings end up at Tiffany's, today's blog is basically your answer. Grab a cuppa, get comfy, and let me take you back to the 26th of July — because this one had absolutely everything.
Getting Ready: Cute House, Big Feelings
Rachael got ready off-site, in the most gorgeous little house that looked like it had been styled by someone who truly understood the assignment — think warm timber tones, soft linens, and decor so good I kept having to remind myself I was there to shoot the bride, not the bedhead. As a photographer, spaces like this are an absolute gift. Every corner was a photo waiting to happen, which made for some of my favourite quiet, candid moments of the whole day — the kind you can't stage even if you tried.

There's a particular kind of hush that settles over a getting-ready room right before a wedding — half nerves, half pure joy — and this one had it in spades. Lots of laughing, a couple of happy tears already sneaking through before the day had even really started, and Rachael looking like an absolute vision in her gown from Belles & Brides by the time hair and makeup wrapped up. Big credit to the Louisa from Lulu Beauty Sunshine Coast team here too, because that finished look lasted through the whole day — ceremony tears, dance floor and all.
The Ceremony: A Classic Tiffany's Maleny Moment
There's a reason couples fall in love with Tiffany's Maleny the second they walk the grounds — that sweeping hinterland backdrop, the way the light filters through the trees, the sheer scale of the views out over the valley. It is, without exaggeration, one of the most breathtaking ceremony locations on the Sunshine Coast, and Rachael and Jonathan's ceremony was Tiffany's doing what Tiffany's does best.

Ceremony & Canapé Music: Roberts & Dean
Jonathan's face as Rachael walked down the aisle is one of those moments I'll never get tired of capturing — that split second where the whole room disappears and it's just the two of them. Vows were said, there wasn't a dry eye among the guests, and just like that, Rachael and Jonathan were married.
As the old saying goes — love isn't about finding someone to live with, it's about finding someone you can't imagine living without. Watching this pair say "I do," you could tell they'd found exactly that.
Golden Hour: The Sky Really Showed Up
Every wedding photographer will tell you the same thing — you can plan the timeline down to the minute, but the sunset does whatever it wants. On this particular Sunday, the sunset decided to be extremely generous. We got an absolutely perfect golden hour, the hinterland hills doing that soft, glowing thing they do, and Rachael and Jonathan glowing right along with them.
Honestly, some days the light does half my job for me, and this was one of them. We snuck away from the reception for ten minutes to soak it in and I genuinely didn't want to say "okay, last one" — the whole sky was putting on a show and I wanted to milk every second of it for these two.
The Reception: Absolutely Epic
If the ceremony was romantic and the sunset was dreamy, the reception was where the party really kicked off. Epic doesn't even cover it — full dance floor, speeches that had the whole room in stitches (and a few in tears), and that unmistakable energy you only get when a couple's favourite people are all in one room celebrating them.

By the time the night wrapped up, my feet were sore, my camera battery was nearly dead, and I was grinning ear to ear — always a good sign it's been a good one.
To Rachael & Jonathan
Thank you so much for having me be part of your day. Genuinely — this was one of the best days of my career. Getting to stand there and watch the two of you say "I do" at a venue as stunning as Tiffany's is not something I'll ever take for granted, and I'll be forever grateful you trusted me with it. I hope you love reliving it through these photos as much as I loved capturing them.
