A Fairytale Day at Gabbinbar Homestead
As a Sunshine Coast wedding photographer, I’ve captured love stories in stunning locations across Queensland – but Gabbinbar Homestead in Toowoomba? It’s something else. Steeped in history, elegance, and surrounded by manicured gardens, this venue offers a full-day wedding experience, from getting ready to the final dance under the stars – and Rebekah & Cooper made the absolute most of it.
This was my first time shooting at Gabbinbar Homestead, and now I completely understand why it's considered one of Queensland’s top-tier wedding venues. Every corner of the estate is a photographer’s dream.
Groom Prep in the Library Room
The day began with the boys getting ready in Gabbinbar’s iconic Library Room – full of rich textures, mood lighting, and that classic “groom’s morning” vibe. Cooper and his groomsmen were full of energy and fun, making for a relaxed and candid pre-ceremony session. We also stepped outside for a few natural light portraits and some fun shots – the groom nailed it.
Bridal Prep in the Light-Filled Suite
Meanwhile, Rebekah and her bridesmaids were preparing in the gorgeous Bridal Suite, which offered soft light and plenty of elegant backdrops. Hair and makeup by the talented team at Luminosa was flawless, and the emotional highlights were abundant: a heartfelt bridesmaid first look and a tear-filled reveal with Bek’s dad.
And the dress? Absolutely breathtaking.
An Intimate Ceremony
Rebekah and Cooper chose to keep their personal vows private – such a beautiful touch that made their ceremony short, sweet, and perfectly them. The always-lovely Kirsty Spencer Celebrant led the proceedings with her signature warmth and grace, creating a moment that felt genuine and deeply heartfelt.
Gabbinbar Homestead – A Photographer’s Paradise
After the ceremony, we wandered the unparalleled grounds of Gabbinbar for couple and bridal party photos. This venue offers it all – towering trees, historic buildings, textured walls, romantic pathways, and golden-hour garden light. Every angle offered something unique, and Bek & Cooper were absolute troopers, trusting the process and embracing every moment.
Gabbinbar truly is the crème de la crème of wedding photography locations in Queensland. It’s easy to see why couples travel far and wide to tie the knot here.
The Dream Reception in the Gabbinbar Hall
The reception was held in Gabbinbar’s main hall, beautifully styled and intimate. Family and friends gave heartfelt speeches, the couple cut their elegant cake from Cakehouse by Katrina Allan, and then hit the dance floor in style.
We capped the night with a quiet nighttime shot outside under the soft lights – the perfect ending to a perfect day.
Instant Memories with ABP Content Creation
Alongside traditional photography, Bek & Cooper also opted for ABP’s exclusive content creation. Using the iPhone 16 Pro Max, I captured raw, emotional behind-the-scenes moments throughout the day – perfect for quick reels and nostalgic recaps. Within 24–48 hours, they received a full gallery of vertical video clips and snapshots, ready to relive on socials before the wedding glow even wore off. It’s the perfect add-on for modern couples who want instant memories.
Final Thoughts
From the emotional moments in the bridal suite to the joy-filled reception in the main hall, Rebekah & Cooper’s wedding at Gabbinbar Homestead was pure magic. Every detail – from the styling to the vendor dream team – came together flawlessly. I’m so proud of the photos we created and so grateful to have been part of this day.
If you're planning a wedding at Gabbinbar Homestead or dreaming of timeless, emotional photography across the Sunshine Coast, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s capture something unforgettable.
