What a day this was! From start to finish, Sheri and Travis’s wedding at Tamborine Mountain Glades was filled with laughter, happy tears, and pure joy. The kind of day that reminds you why love stories are worth capturing — perfectly imperfect moments and all.

Getting Ready – Family, Friends & A Bit of Chaos

We kicked things off at Sheri and Travis’s home, where Travis was getting ready with their two sons. The atmosphere was buzzing — mates hanging out, family chatting, and that pre-wedding excitement building in the air. Travis even surprised his groomsmen with custom gift boxes — a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the day.

And, of course, his beloved car couldn’t miss its moment in the spotlight. A quick photo session with the car? Absolutely necessary. It’s not a proper groom’s prep without a bit of horsepower involved!

After a good laugh with the boys, we made our way up to Tamborine Mountain Glades to meet the girls. One of the many things I love about this Gold Coast hinterland wedding venue is that it has everything in one place — beautiful accommodation for getting ready, lush rainforest ceremony spots, and an elegant reception space all within walking distance. For couples looking for a stress-free wedding day with minimal travel, it’s an absolute dream.

And the best part? The photo opportunities are endless — from open forest paths to sunlit glades and the iconic log over the river (yes, that log!). It’s one of the most popular photo spots at the venue and makes for a breathtaking image. Just be warned — it’s not for the faint-hearted! You’ll need a touch of adventure to climb it, but the photos are so worth it.

Bridal Prep – A Few Drinks & A Lot of Emotion

When we arrived, Sheri and her bridal party were already in full swing — drinks in hand and spirits high. Hair and makeup had just wrapped up thanks to Majestic Mane and The Makeup Hut, and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

Sheri’s morning was full of special moments. She wanted to do several first looks — with her sons and some key family members — and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. These are the moments I adore capturing as a wedding photographer. The quiet, emotional exchanges that remind you just how much love surrounds you on your wedding day.

Being part of that energy — the laughter, the nerves, the love — is what makes photographing weddings so special. It’s not just about the big moments; it’s about the in-between ones too.

The Ceremony – Finding the Right Person at the Right Time

The ceremony took place just down the road, surrounded by the lush greenery that makes Tamborine Mountain Glades such a magical venue. Travis was already there, looking equal parts nervous and excited as guests began to arrive.

When Sheri walked down the aisle, you could feel the emotion ripple through the crowd. The couple included their sons throughout the ceremony, which made it all the more meaningful. With heartfelt personal vows, a ring exchange, and a few tears shed all around, it was a ceremony to remember.

“They say you don’t find the right person by chance, but by timing — when your heart is ready and your soul recognizes its match.”

Sheri and Travis are living proof of that.

Bridal Party Adventures – That Famous Log Shot

After the ceremony, it was time for the fun part — the bridal portraits! Naturally, we had to make our way to the famous log over the creek. Thankfully, the weather had been kind, and the water level was low, making it a little easier to navigate. Sheri, despite a few nervous laughs (because who wouldn’t be in a wedding dress on a log?), was an absolute trooper.

We managed to get the entire bridal party up there, and the photos turned out incredible. From there, we explored the newly renovated areas of Tamborine Mountain Glades, capturing both romantic and fun shots that perfectly reflected Sheri and Travis’s personalities.

These two really wanted their wedding photos to feel natural, candid, and full of energy — and we made sure to deliver just that!

Reception – Cheese Cake, Champagne & A Whole Lot of Dancing

As the sun set, it was time to head back for the reception. The bridal party made their entrance with a bang, and Sheri and Travis followed it up with an epic champagne pop that had everyone cheering.

Instead of a traditional cake, they went with a cheese wheel cake — an absolute hit among their guests. Because honestly, who doesn’t love cheese, dips, and crackers after a few glasses of bubbly?

The night continued with heartfelt speeches, a perfectly choreographed first dance (seriously, one of the best I’ve ever seen!), and a dance floor full of people who clearly came ready to party. DJ Party Liaison kept the energy high, and by the end of the night, there were sore feet, full hearts, and endless smiles.

A Final Word

Sheri and Travis hired Angela Brushe Photography for both photography and videography to capture their big day. Although I’m based on the Sunshine Coast, I’ll travel anywhere your love takes me — from the Gold Coast to Brisbane, Byron Bay, and beyond.

If you’re dreaming of a Tamborine Mountain wedding surrounded by rainforest, laughter, and a little bit of adventure, Tamborine Mountain Glades is truly one of the best venues around.
