Reise & Connor’s Bunnyconnellen Wedding | A Dreamy Country Wedding
Some wedding venues just have that something special about them. And let me tell you, Bunnyconnellen is absolutely one of them.
Nestled in the countryside near Toowoomba, Bunnyconnellen is the kind of wedding venue that makes you stop, look around and think, surely it doesn't get much better than this?
As a wedding photographer, I'm lucky enough to explore some pretty incredible wedding venues across Queensland, but this was my very first time photographing a wedding at Bunnyconnellen. And after spending the day celebrating Reise and Connor? I am already dreaming about the next opportunity to return.
If you're planning a Toowoomba wedding and love the idea of a rustic country wedding with a beautiful touch of luxury, Bunnyconnellen absolutely deserves a spot on your venue shortlist.
Think rolling countryside, gorgeous gardens, breathtaking views of the Darling Downs, endless wedding photography locations and quite possibly one of the most beautiful bridal getting-ready suites I've ever photographed.
But enough about my newfound love affair with this venue. Let's talk about the two people who made this particular Wednesday in September so unforgettable.
Because Reise and Connor? These two knew how to throw one seriously incredible wedding.
Groom Preparations at Crows Nest Motel
Our wedding photography adventure began with Connor and his groomsmen at Crows Nest Motel, just a short drive from Bunnyconnellen.
And honestly, what a way to kick off the day.
Some groups need a little encouragement to loosen up in front of the camera. These boys? Absolutely not.
From the moment we arrived, the laughs were flowing, the banter was in full swing and everyone was more than happy to get involved in whatever ridiculous little photo ideas we threw their way.
Which, as a wedding photographer, is exactly the kind of energy I love.
Between getting suited up, helping each other with those final touches and having a good laugh along the way, we captured some brilliant candid moments and a whole lot of personality.
There is something so special about those few hours before a wedding ceremony. The anticipation is building, everyone is buzzing and somewhere underneath all the jokes, it starts to sink in that one of your favourite people is about to get married.
Connor and his boys certainly set the tone for what was going to be one very fun wedding day.
Bridal Preparations in Bunnyconnellen's Beautiful Bridal Suite
Next stop, Bunnyconnellen, where Reise and her gorgeous bridal party were getting ready.
Now, can we please take a moment to appreciate this bridal suite?
Because WOW.
I've photographed hundreds of weddings over the years, and I can confidently say this is one of the most beautiful bridal preparation spaces I've had the pleasure of working in.
Natural light pouring through the rooms, beautiful interiors, plenty of space to move around and so many gorgeous little corners for photographs. Honestly, it's a wedding photographer's dream.
And for brides looking for a Bunnyconnellen wedding photographer, trust me when I say this venue makes those getting-ready photographs something pretty special.
Reise was having her final touches of glam completed by Hair by Tammy and Jessica Kaye Makeup, and she was looking absolutely stunning.
Once the girls were ready, we started with some fun photographs in their matching PJs before making the most of the beautiful bridal suite.
There were plenty of laughs, some gorgeous portraits and all those lovely little in-between moments that make getting-ready photographs so meaningful.
Then came the first looks.
And oh, these were special.
Reise shared beautiful first-look moments with her bridesmaids, grandparents and dad. Each one brought its own emotions, from big smiles and laughter to those beautiful teary-eyed reactions that you just can't manufacture.
There's something incredibly moving about watching the people who have loved someone their entire life see them as a bride.
For just a few moments, everything slows down.
The nerves, the excitement, the anticipation of the ceremony ahead. It all becomes very real.
And those are the photographs that I know will mean even more in twenty years than they do today.
Of course, we also had to make sure we captured plenty of photographs of Reise in her stunning wedding dress from Moon and Pearl Bridal.
With such a beautiful bride, incredible natural light and a bridal suite like this, I was very much in my happy place.
A Beautiful Garden Wedding Ceremony Overlooking the Darling Downs
Before we knew it, it was ceremony time.
And Bunnyconnellen certainly knows how to provide a backdrop.
Reise and Connor exchanged their vows on the lawn, surrounded by their favourite people, with spectacular countryside views stretching out across the Darling Downs.
If you're searching for a rustic wedding venue near Toowoomba, this is exactly the kind of setting that makes country weddings so magical.
Wide-open skies, beautiful scenery and that peaceful countryside atmosphere that makes everything feel just a little more intimate.
Their ceremony was beautifully officiated by Helen Roberts, who did such a wonderful job of balancing the heartfelt moments with plenty of laughter.
And that really summed up Reise and Connor's ceremony perfectly.
There were tears. There were laughs. There were those beautiful little glances between the two of them that said more than words ever could.
Everything a wedding ceremony should be.
And then came the walk back down the aisle.
OH. MY. GOODNESS.
You know those wedding photographs where the couple looks like they're having the absolute time of their lives?
That was Reise and Connor.
The biggest smiles, pure excitement and that wonderful just-married energy that makes confetti-free or confetti-filled aisle exits equally magical.
One of my favourite moments from the entire day, and such a perfect way to begin their married life together.
Golden Hour Wedding Photography at Bunnyconnellen
As if we hadn't already been spoiled with an incredible day, the Queensland countryside decided to put on one final show.
And what a show it was.
The sunset over Bunnyconnellen was absolutely breathtaking.
That soft, golden afternoon light rolled across the landscape, giving us the most beautiful conditions for wedding portraits.
Now, if there's one thing I will always get excited about as a wedding photographer, it's golden hour.
Combine that with a couple who are clearly having the best day of their lives, a bridal party that's up for a laugh and a venue with endless photography locations?
You have yourself a pretty spectacular combination.
We spent time exploring the grounds, capturing fun bridal party photographs, beautiful candid moments and some seriously dreamy portraits of Reise and Connor.
There was laughter, movement, a little bit of organised chaos and so much genuine happiness.
Exactly how I love wedding photographs to feel.
Because while I adore a beautiful, timeless portrait, what matters most to me is that when you look back at your wedding gallery, you remember how those moments actually felt.
The way you laughed together.
The excitement of finally being married.
The feeling of having all your favourite people celebrating alongside you.
And those few quiet minutes together as the sun begins to disappear, when you get to look at each other and think, we actually did it.
If you're considering Bunnyconnellen for your wedding, please, please make time in your wedding photography timeline for sunset portraits.
You'll thank yourself later.
A Wedding Reception Full of Laughs, Love and Some Very Impressive Dance Moves
With our golden hour photographs complete, it was time to head into the reception.
And just when I thought the day couldn't possibly get any more entertaining, the bridal party decided to prove me wrong.
Their reception entrance was honestly one of the most entertaining I've had the pleasure of witnessing.
These guys had clearly understood the assignment.
Coordinated, hilarious and full of energy, it was the perfect way to kick off the evening celebrations.
The room was buzzing, everyone was laughing and the atmosphere was exactly what you want at a wedding reception.
The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches, plenty of celebrations, a first dance and, of course, a very important appearance from the cake cart.
Because what's a wedding without a little cake-related excitement?
Guests were treated to delicious food from Toowoomba Woodfired Pizza, while Fonoti Band helped keep the celebrations going.
And let me tell you, these guests were ready for a party.
There was dancing, laughter and the kind of energy that makes you wish wedding receptions could go on forever.
But before the night was completely over, we managed to sneak Reise and Connor away for a few final photographs.
Romantic Nighttime Wedding Photos in the Olive Tree Garden
One of the things I absolutely loved about photographing a wedding at Bunnyconnellen was just how many different photography opportunities the venue offered throughout the day.
From the natural light of the bridal suite to the sweeping countryside views at sunset, every part of the property brought something different.
And after dark, we found ourselves in the olive tree garden.
Away from the excitement of the reception, we took a few minutes to capture some beautiful nighttime wedding portraits.
There's something really special about sneaking away for photographs once the celebrations are underway.
The pressure of the day has disappeared. The ceremony is done. The speeches are over. And suddenly, it's just the two of you, taking in everything that has happened.
Those little pockets of time can become some of the most memorable moments of the entire wedding.
And what better way to finish our photography coverage than with a few romantic portraits under the night sky?
Reise & Connor, What a Wedding Day!
I photograph a lot of weddings, and every single one brings something different.
But every now and then, a wedding comes along where everything just seems to fall perfectly into place.
The people, the atmosphere, the venue, the weather, the laughter and those little unexpected moments that make the day uniquely yours.
Reise and Connor's Bunnyconnellen wedding was absolutely one of those days.
From the hilarious morning with the boys to the emotional first looks, the beautiful ceremony, that unforgettable sunset and one seriously fun reception, it was a wedding day I feel incredibly lucky to have captured.
And I have to give another special mention to Reise and her maid of honour, who took care of the wedding styling, along with Reise creating the beautiful floral arrangements herself.
Such a lovely personal touch, and proof that sometimes the most meaningful wedding details are the ones you've poured your own heart into.
To Reise and Connor, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your wedding day.
It was an absolute joy spending the day with you both and your wonderful family and friends.
I hope every time you look back through your photographs, you're transported straight back to that beautiful September afternoon, surrounded by all the people who love you most.
Wishing you both a lifetime of adventures, belly laughs, beautiful memories and the kind of love that only gets better with time.
And Bunnyconnellen? I really hope we meet again soon.
A Little 35mm Film Magic at Bunnyconnellen
As if Reise and Connor's Bunnyconnellen wedding couldn't get any more beautiful, we also captured a few special moments on 35mm film!
There's just something about film photography that hits differently. The nostalgic colours, the beautiful grain and those perfectly imperfect moments that feel like memories straight out of an old family photo album. A little timeless magic alongside your digital wedding gallery.
And the best part? You can add a little film magic to your own wedding day too!
35mm film photography add-ons start from just $250 per roll, making it the perfect little extra for couples who love that nostalgic, old-school feeling.
