Jen & Jason’s Walkabout Creek Wedding | Brisbane Wedding Photographer

Wedding Date: 9 April 2026
Location: Walkabout Creek, Brisbane

There’s something about a wedding day that just hits differently when it starts with laughter—and Jen & Jason’s day was exactly that from the very first moment.

The Morning: Whiskey, Watches & Good Vibes

The day kicked off with the boys, and honestly… what a way to start. Jason was surrounded by his closest mates, and from the second I arrived, it was nothing but laughs, banter, and the kind of chaos that makes for the best candid moments.

Somewhere between the whiskey pours and the questionable tie-tying skills, Jason was gifted a beautifully engraved pocket watch from his bride-to-be. A timeless piece (pun absolutely intended) that added such a sentimental touch to his wedding day look. It was one of those quiet moments in the middle of the madness that really grounded the day—this wasn’t just fun and games… this was something meaningful.

The Girls: Champagne Pops & First Looks

Over with the girls, the energy was just as high—but with a little more sparkle (and significantly more hairspray thanks to the incredible team at Blushd Brides).

Jen and her bridesmaids had just finished getting ready and were already in full celebration mode. Matching PJs, a champagne pop, and lots of laughter—it was the kind of morning every bride dreams of.

But what made this part of the day truly special were the first looks.

Jen chose to share that moment not just with her partner later in the day, but with her bridesmaids, her dad, and her brother—and each one was just as emotional as the last.

  • Her bridesmaids’ reactions? Pure joy and hype energy.

  • Her dad? A mix of pride, love, and a few teary eyes.

  • Her brother? A quiet, heartfelt moment that said everything without needing words.

To top it all off, Jen gifted her dad engraved cufflinks—one of those small gestures that carries so much meaning.

We made sure to soak it all in with plenty of family photos, capturing the people who matter most before the whirlwind of the day really began.

The Venue: Walkabout Creek Magic

Then it was time to head to Walkabout Creek—and honestly, this venue is such a hidden gem for a Brisbane wedding.

Being able to have your ceremony, photos, and reception all in one location makes the day flow so seamlessly (and keeps things stress-free, which we LOVE). Surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful bushland, it offers the perfect natural backdrop for wedding photography.

From the amphitheatre to the boardwalk, every corner of this venue gives you something unique—and Jen & Jason made the most of it.

The Ceremony: Short, Sweet & Full of Love

The ceremony was officiated by the wonderful Venita Manning, who absolutely nailed the brief: short, sweet, and full of heart.

As Jen walked down the aisle, everything just paused for a second—the kind of moment you wish you could bottle up forever.

A beautiful reminder echoed through the ceremony:

“At the heart of it all, it’s simply about being with the one you love—soaking in every moment, just as it is.”

And just like that… they were married.

Golden Hour Glow & Effortless Moments

Post-ceremony, we kept things simple—no overcomplicated timelines, no rushing around.

We explored just a few key spots around the venue:

  • The amphitheatre

  • The boardwalk

  • The surrounding bushland

And wow… the light showed up for us. Golden rays filtered through the trees, wrapping everything in that dreamy glow photographers live for. It was one of those everything just works kind of afternoons.

Reception: Speeches, Dancing & Big Energy

The reception kicked off with one of their close friends as MC—and he absolutely brought the energy. The night flowed effortlessly, keeping guests entertained while still allowing those special moments to shine.

Speeches were kept intimate, with heartfelt words from Jen’s dad and the newlyweds themselves.

One of the standout moments?
Jen’s father-daughter dance—emotional, beautiful, and a moment you could feel in the room.

Followed by Jen & Jason’s first dance as husband and wife… and just like that, the party truly began.

Champagne Chaos (and I Regret Nothing)

Now, if you know me, you know no wedding day is complete without a champagne pop… and this one? Took things to a whole new level.

Let’s just say—I didn’t walk away dry.

Head to toe. Champagne. Covered.

Worth it? Absolutely.

It was chaotic, hilarious, and one of those moments that perfectly sums up the energy of the day—fun, unfiltered, and completely unforgettable.

We wrapped up with a little nighttime photo session using flash photography, capturing those editorial, high-energy party shots that bring the whole wedding album together.

A Day I’ll Never Forget

Jen & Jason’s wedding was the perfect balance of heartfelt and fun—a day filled with genuine moments, big laughs, and so much love.

As a photographer, it’s days like this that remind me just how special this job is. These aren’t just photos—they’re memories.

Choosing a photographer isn’t just about pretty pictures—it’s about trusting someone to capture your story exactly how you want to remember it.

And I feel incredibly lucky to have been the one to do that for Jen & Jason.

Supporting Bowel Cancer Awareness

This wedding holds a deeper meaning—one that goes far beyond a beautiful day, stunning photos, or even the celebration itself.

Jen’s story is a reminder of just how precious time really is.

Weddings are always emotional, but this one carried a quiet weight—a powerful awareness to be present, to hold your people a little closer, and to truly soak in every single moment as it is.

Because at the heart of it all, that’s what it’s about.

Being with the one you love.
Laughing with your favourite people.
Creating memories that will be held onto forever.

Bowel cancer is something that affects so many individuals and families, often without warning. Early detection can save lives, and having conversations about it—no matter how uncomfortable—matters more than we realise.

If you’re reading this, let this be your gentle reminder to check in with your health, to listen to your body, and to encourage your loved ones to do the same.

If you’d like to support bowel cancer awareness or make a donation, you can do so here:

Because every moment matters—and everyone deserves more of them.
